Gabrielle Union to Star in Chris Rock Dramedy, ‘Finally Famous’
Comedian and Actor Chris Rock has solicited Gabrielle Union to star in his new film, Finally Famous. The actress will play Erica Long, “a popular reality TV star eager to be more famous”. Rock, who wrote and directed the film, plays Andre Allen, a comedian-turned-film-star itching to be taken seriously by his peers in the acting world. Sounds like the typical story line until you find out he’s also a recovering alcoholic who owes his sobriety to his fiancée. The media frenzy surrounding his upcoming nuptials grabs the attention of Chelsea Brown (played by Rosario Dawson), a sassy journalist for the New Yorker. He agrees to being interviewed and finds himself in a feisty, no-holds-barred interaction that will be sure to shift the dynamic of his relationship. This will be Rock’s first time directing since 2007′s I Think I Love My Wife. He also produced and starred in the feature-length documentary Good Hair in 2009. Finally Famous hits theaters this Fall.
